Dear Friends,
I know it's hard to believe but Fall is already in full swing. In most places, the weather
has gotten cool and nippy and the leaves have begun to turn colors and float to the ground. Kids have settled into school and are likely informing their
parents or guardians of several school projects that are due before the year ends.
For me October is my favorite time of the year because it's my birthday month (October 6th) and
it's during this time of year that I buckle down and write. I am currently working on my next adult title which is called, Love, Lies and Scandal. It's an
exciting book about the life of journalist Angela Rivers who hosts a reality show called Love, Lies and Scandal. She offers her guest's advice on how to maintain
loving and healthy relationships until her own marriage takes a scandalous turn and her private life, which is filled with secrets
and lies becomes very public. The character Angela Rivers first appeared in my novel, Through Thick and Thin.

 If I Were Your Boyfriend
The sequel to my young adult novel Keysha's Drama has been completed. The
title of the next installment is called, If I Were Your Boyfriend, which will be released in the spring of 2008. To the
right is the new cover image and below is a brief description of what readers can look forward to discovering.
How had Keysha gone
from popular to social outcast? One word: FRENEMY. A girl Keysha thought was her friend planted drugs on her-and Keysha got
caught. The media blitz on their wealthy suburb turned everyone against her. On her first day back at school Keysha is stared down in the halls. She's whispered about and
no one will talk to her. Liz Lloyd, the girl who ruined Keysha's reputation laughs in her face when Keysha confronts her. So when a guy with his own bad rep offers to
help, Keysha's first reaction is yeah, right! Until she realizes that Wesley Morris is more than just hot, and more than
just talk. He's been there, done that and turned his life around. But no one wants this so-called bad-news boyfriend anywhere near Keysha. Including her family. Still,
Wesley isn't willing to walk away and let Keysha pay for someone else's crime. He'll even risk life in order to prove her innocence.

This year I completed my third Chicago Half Marathon. I finished the 13.1 mile run in two
hours and twenty four minutes. It's my slowest time thus far but given my hectic and crazy schedule I was just happy to complete the race. 
I also had a chance to meet legendary actor Billy Dee Williams. He is still as cool and smooth
as he ever was.
